Searching for fun atmosphere, great food, and friendly people after a grueling flight into Seattle? Look no further than Sharp’s RoastHouse Seatac, just around the corner from the airport! With meats roasting in plain sight, rotating rows of whiskey barrels, and of course their notorious canopy of bent airplane propellers dazzling your eyes upon entering, you’re sure to feel the spirit of their friendly atmosphere right away. If not, give it just a moment because their welcoming staff will make sure of it as soon as they see you!
This is such an inviting establishment that is great for people looking to have a good time as well as for couples and families. As soon as you walk in you’ll notice the array of meats roasting in front of your eyes – literally smoking on an open grill you as you are seated. On one side of the meat display is a large dining area suitable for groups and families with a quieter feel to it. While on the other side there is seating near the bar with more excitement in the air. You can see here how excited I was to have several racks of ribs directly behind me as I sipped my beer not far from the bar. This has got to be the best appetite inducer I’ve ever come across!
After all of the build up of excitement from the delicious smells and sights, the flavor did not disappoint. I was very pleased with my meat trio of ribs, brisket and pulled pork sliders. This is hearty comfort food, in every sense of the meaning. The cherry on top was the crispy onion strings and beans on the side, paired with the great Flyer’s Porter from Whidbey Island.
Speaking of beer, did I mention they have 25 craft beers on tap, most of which are from local breweries? So many delicious beers and styles to choose from in an area where microbreweries are all the craze, you really can’t go wrong if you choose anything from Washington and Oregon. The menu conveniently points out for you where each of their draughts originates from. You’re able to get some of the freshest brews available while enjoying some of the most delicious food around!
If you look around, you’ll notice the extensive bar and the lit-up game wheel next to it. I would be surprised if you could name a drink they did not have. There’s no room for boredom in this place besides all of that, the decor alone will keep you busy looking around. There are wooden barrels that appear to be full of whiskey, unless I am much mistaken, with dates indicating their contents age. The rustic ironwork accenting the collections of Americana throughout the place fits perfectly with the enormous American flag hung across the ceiling. And of course, there’s the whimsical multi-colored bent airplane propeller’s floating overheard as mentioned before.
Overall, this place gets a two-thumbs up! I had a great experience that I would gladly recommend to anyone and everyone. It was only made better after a great conversation with the manager about how happy my husband and I were with our decision to spend our night relaxing here and that I really wanted to do a piece about this wonderful place. He was a delight to speak to and joke with, and to my surprise he generously bought us a round of drinks! So, if you’re in Seattle and need a reference to the perfect place near the airport to have a good time, think of Sharp’s RoastHouse Seatac. You won’t regret it.
